The developers, their peers and the world of support structures for these expose the magic explored in a number of games. Interviews occur in San Francisco, New York, Davis, Austin and Copenhagen. Ready? Let's talk about Us and the Game Industry.
If you like to take a peek behind the curtain to see how the magic happens and maybe even meet the magician and see what do they consider to be magic, make sure to grab Us and the Game Industry DRM-free on GOG.com. Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, the masterfully crafted continuation to the 1988s original post-apocalyptic RPG, is available for 10% off for pre-orders for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, on GOG.com. That's $53.99 in US until September 19, when the game is expected to launch.
Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, is the direct sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other CRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players’ hands to advance based on their own particular play style.
On GOG.com Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition comes complete with a free copy of Wasteland - The Original Classic and inXile's cult fantasy RPG, The Bard's Tale (both bonus games will be delivered to you as gift-able codes). All that 10% off until September 19! Please note, that after the game launches, Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition (basically: what you'd call a "standard" edition) will also be offered, apart from the robust Deluxe edition you can pre-order now. An upgrade pack turning the standard edition into the Deluxe version will be available as well.
$53.99 is the basic discounted price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price ( this applies to UK gamers only in this), we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package").
Stronghold Crusader HD, Empire Earth series, Space Colony, Evil Genius, and more of the fall's finest 60% off!
The evenings are getting longer and the summer sun is waning. All the signs are there: autumn is coming. It's only adequate then, that this weekend the prices on GOG.com will fall like golden leaves. Go ahead and take a look at our Autumn Assortment of 27 titles, all 60% off until Tuesday, September 9, at 3:59AM GMT. Let's take a peek at some of the titles!
Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusader HD both feature a finely balanced mixture of "castle sim" and a challenging real-time strategy game, set in the turbulent Middle Ages. Evil Genius gives you the chance to become an old-school Bond movie villain (only this time, the evil mastermind's plan to take over the world hangs mostly on you), plotting away in his secret island fortress. With plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor the game will give you a tour of all the fun spy thriller clichés. For a more hands on approach to problem solving you can always join the Commandos, a hand-picked group of the army's finest, on their daunting World War II missions. To succeed, your elite squad needs to follow a carefully developed plan, that plays to the strengths of individual soldiers and masterfully synchronizes their attacks.
Not enough? Then have a look at all the awesome games featured in our Autumn Assortment, all 60% off until Tuesday, September 9, at 3:59AM GMT.
If you browse the promo page carefully, there is one game there with a bit higher 66% discount. Constructor is unfortunately waving a (hopefully temporary) bye-bye to GOG.com, as the rights to the game are changing hands. This is your chance to get it for only $1.99 before we have to pull it off of our shelf.
Make a video about a game you love on GOG.com, win Witcher 3 pre-order!
This week, we're celebrating GOG's 6th birthday, reminiscing about our gaming highlights over the years. Every single person on the GOG.com team has a favorite title in our catalog of classic and modern games, that they can talk about for hours. But enough about us, let's talk about you. What is your special game on GOG.com? Tell us about it!
Make a short video (no longer than ~7 minutes, please), presenting a GOG.com game that you hold dear for one reason or another. Upload it publicly to YouTube or Vimeo making sure its name follows a certain format: [your name] + GOG-game Story: + [game title] (so, for example, mine would be "G-Doc's GOG-game Story: Gobliiins Pack"). Include a comment "This, and many other DRM-free games can be found on GOG.com" in the description of the video, also linking to the GOG.com page of the game you feature. You can use the video footage from the game freely, mix it with footage of yourself, and do other creative things, that don't violate copyright (be mindful of your background music choices!). Please be so kind, and end your video with the following image. Post your video in the comments below, just to be sure we won't miss it.
You have time until Monday, September 22, at 9:59AM GMT, and after that a jury consisting of GOG.com staffers will pick the winners within a week. Ten videos we like the most will receive a digital pre-order of ">The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (or its equivalent in gift codes, if they already own it. We reserve the option to also give away a number of runner up prizes.
So - what will be your special title on GOG.com? Tell us! Not sure how to do your video? No problem - we've held a similar challenge 2 years ago, and you can see the resulting videos - for inspiration and reference. Ok, are you ready? Start rolling!
GOG.com is celebrating 6th birthday: different games up to 80% off each day!
For six years now, we've been building a library of great games of many genres, ages, and origins. One by one they were introduced to our catalog, publisher by publisher, developer by developer, series by series. We've started small, with just a couple dozen of games and a small crew of passionate gamers. Then we grew. Each year was exciting and brought excellent additions to our offer. This week, we'd like to go back to GOG.com history, taking you on a little trip down the memory lane. Each day we'll be taking some of the games we've released in a given year of GOG's existence, and offering them to you up to 80% off.
It was 2008 when we've launched our service to the public, offering a modest collection of golden classics that every PC gamer would instantly recognize, in other words: the Interplay catalog. During the first year in business (September 2008 - September 2009) we've released a nice number of exciting titles and you've reacted to them accordingly. Here's an enthusiastic review of Unreal Tournament 2004 from our user Sarge:
This game is a must have if you call yourself a PC gamer. It's fun, it's fast, and the amount of user content will blow your mind! There are mods that can turn the game into an RTS, a horror game, a space opera, and much more. I bought this game when it came out and it was a blast just by itself, but with the amount of stuff you can add to it, it's easy to call it a gaming platform. There are still many servers with many people playing today.
What was true back then remains true now: Unreal Tournament 2004 is still quite a popular choice for PC gamers looking for a multiplayer shooter. The year 2008/2009 brought many more exciting titles including Beyond Good and Evil, Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete Edition, or Jagged Alliance 2. You can grab them - and many more - up to 80% off - from our 6th Birthday Promo page, today!
Today's featured games will remain discounted until Tuesday, September 9, at 9:59AM GMT so don't miss your chance! Come back tomorrow and continue the celebration, with a new set of memorable titles from yet another year with GOG.com! Finally, if you're in the mood to reminisce, think about taking part in our GOG-Game Video Contest. Thanks for being with us!

An ode to the value of hobbies.
Journey to Planet X, a funny and touching documentary about an epic escape from the mundane and straight into outer space, is available DRM-free for only $5.99.
Eric Swain and Troy Bernier are accomplished scientists by day and amateur filmmakers by night. Over the years these two friends have turned out many of their own amateur, sci-fi inspired movies. The documentary follows the filming of "Planet X", the duo’s most ambitious endeavor to date, and sheds light on their unique brand of “movie magic.”
While Troy views Planet X as an opportunity to launch a career in the movie-industry, Eric is content with making films as a playful and creative hobby. Troy’s bold new aspirations greatly exceed anything they’ve accomplished in previous films and the pressure of raising the bar forces both to take a leap of faith. They recruit the involvement of everyone they can find – from their own family members, to co-workers, and local aspiring actors. They shoot on sand dunes, highway overpasses, and inside an industrial-sized freezer at a local supermarket. Together with their cast and crew, they form an unlikely community of like-minded adventurers.
Journey to Planet X will tell you all about making a sci-fi feature film in your own backyard for only $5.99!

Battle Worlds: Kronos, Ether One, Blazblue Calamity Trigger, and more Indietastic titles up to 80% off!
You know GOG.com has a lot of affection for the indie scene and for plenty of reasons. Some devs take on risks that none of the big AAA powerhouses would dare to consider, introducing original, untried concepts into their games. Others look to the past to re-create the feel and mood of the finest titles in the history of gaming, the ones that still give gamers a warm and fuzzy feeling, while adding their personal touch to create something fresh. To give you a sample of what we consider Indietastic this weekend we have a selection of 31 games on sale. Let's take a look at some of those titles:
Dyad, a one-of-a-kind shooter, is a psychadelic trip at warp speed and straight into the audio-visual nirvana. Battle Worlds: Kronos, a classic turn-based strategy game looks to the classics liek Battle Isle, Advance Wars and Panzer General. If you ever wondered how those games would feel like in a modern incarnation this title will answer all your questions. Ether One: Deluxe Edition on the other hand is a fresh take on first-person perspective adventuring that, rather than taking you on a trip around the world, deals with the fragility of the human mind.
That's just a taste of what's in store for you in our weekend promo! Head over to the promo page and see for yourself! The offer lasts until Tuesday, September 16, at 3:59 AM GMT!
